ABOUT

Deezie Brown was born and raised in Bastrop, Texas a small town just 45 minutes away from the Live Music Capital of the World. He grew up in a family that bonded over music and his dad exposed him to hip-hop from the South early on from Atlanta’s own Outkast to Texas’s Hip hop greats DJ Screw and UGK.

In his adolescent years, Deezie started creating mixtapes by collecting blank tapes and recording with his boombox while using beats from his family’s cassette tape collection. After hearing the song “Crossroads,” by the rap group Bones Thugs and Harmony he quickly knew that music was his destiny. His Uncle Corey connected him with Shorty Mac the best friend of the legendary DJ Screw and he gave the young artist his first shot in the recording booth. In 2018, he released his first album Judith, which included the hits “Toast to Balenciaga before you go” and “Drive”.

That same year he put out the single “I Want It All” as a tribute to Kobe Bryant. The record was produced by former NBA superstar Chris Bosh and released by his record label Daddy Jack Records which marked the label’s first of many collaborations between the two. Deezie dropped the album Candy Blue Like Screw with Smithville native EC Mayne and together they take you on an epic historic journey of the roots of Texas Hip Hop with tracks like “South End.”

Brown has performed at prominent music festivals including SXSW, Underground Music Showcase, and Austin’s Inaugural Summer Jam. He most recently dropped the EP Geto Gala in collaboration with former KUTX Artist of the Month Jake Lloyd. Deezie Brown continues to impress with his lyrical content and his creative edge that makes him stand out from the crowd all while remaining true to his Texas hip-hop roots.
